Re-roofing?
What to expect during the process.
Roofing
your home may seem like a large undertaking. We would
like to provide you with information and put you at
ease with the process.
Colorado Roofing Repair understands and respects our
customer's concerns, and their need for privacy. We
strive to not only install the highest quality roof
with utmost craftsmanship, but to get it done in the
shortest period of time possible. Thus minimize stress
for the homeowner.
To every job, we bring the man power and modern equipment
needed to get the job done right, and get it done
quickly.
In
preparation for the roofing process, following
are some items to consider;
•Traffic:
If
your old roof is being torn off, we will be placing
a full size dumpster, or dumpster trailer as close
to your home as possible to minimize debris falling
in your yard. We will also have several trucks near
your home, we will do our best to keep your access
open to your driveway. This may mean that we will
have to park one or more trucks in front of your neighbors
home. If you are concerned that your neighbors will
feel inconvenienced, you may want to notify them of
the work being done so they are prepared.
•Noise:
During
the roofing process, as with any construction project,
there will be noise inside the house and out, that
you are not accustomed to. We will be using electric
and pneumatic powered tools, along with some hand
tools.
•Vibration:
While work is in progress, we will be loading and
moving material, and other operations that will cause
vibrations to the interior walls and ceiling of your
home. We are very careful and respectful of your property,
but total elimination of vibrations is impossible.
If you feel that this vibration would cause any disturbance
of pictures, or light fixtures such as ceiling fans
or chandeliers, you should remove those items from
the walls / ceiling to prevent damage. We will be
happy to assist you if needed.
•Debris:
There will be debris from any construction project,
most debris comes from a tear off. We try very hard
to make sure that all debris is removed from the area
the day we tear off, and again when we are finished
with the project. We ask that you take precautions
while we are there and stay clear of the debris until
we have had a chance to remove it. Once we have left,
we recommend you inspect your yard for any small nails
or wood prior to mowing.
•Landscaping:
As mentioned before, when we tear off an old roof,
debris will fall to the ground, this could include
flower beds, shrubs, bushes, if close to your house.
We will make every attempt to protect the landscaping
you have worked so hard on. We ask that you assist
us in this process, by informing us of any particularly
delicate items, and suggest or put in place the adequate
protection. We are there to enhance the beauty of
your home.
We thank you for taking the time to let us inform
you of the roofing process. We pride ourselves in
making this process pleasant, rewarding, and educational
for our customers from the very first phone call to
the time the job is completed.
Question:
Do
you provide free estimates?
Answer:
Yes, our estimates are typically free of charge.
We appreciate the opportunity to provide you
with our bid for services. We value our potential
customers, we do not consider it an inconvenience
to look at your project.

Question:
Can
you just go over the top of my existing roof material
instead of tearing it off?
Answer:
Sometimes we can, depending on the condition
of the existing materials, the substrate (deck) and
which county your located in, as some counties will
only allow more than one layer of roofing. We
are required to comply with city building codes and
our own strict standards. For example, if your
roof has two layers of shingles already, we have no
choice but to remove them (tear off). Evidence
of substrate / deck deterioration will also require
a "tear off" in order to repair affected areas.
We feel that tearing off the existing materials, inspecting
the substrate / deck and the general integrity of
the roof structure and components, then installing
a quality roof is typically the best course of action.

Question:
How
long will it take to complete my roof?
Answer:
On average, three to five days for residential
roofs.
There are exceptions to this rule. Roofs
that are, larger than average, in need of extensive
structural repairs, or roofs where we are installing
specialty materials, will of course require more time
to complete.
We have found this question is asked by customers
after they have seen another roofing company take
two weeks or longer to complete a job on an average
size home in the neighborhood. We understand
the inconvenience of having people you do not know
around your house, on your roof, interrupting your
regularly scheduled life. We come to each job
site with the man power, knowledge, skill, professionalism
and equipment to complete the job in a timely manner.
However, rest assured we will never jeopardize
our quality craftsmanship to hurry a job along.
Commercial
projects do
not have an average time frame due to the vast size
difference in commercial buildings. We will
give you an expected time frame for completion upon
commencement of the project. |
